Ark Housing Major Adaptation Tender

Applications are invited from Contractors who wish to be considered for inclusion on a Select List of
Contractors to be invited to tender for the completion of disability adaptation works to an existing single
storey bungalow within Rossmore Park, Ormeau Road, Belfast.
In accordance with Central Procurement Directorate (CPD) Requirements, please note that Contractors
wishing to apply to be short-listed for invitation to tender will need to have the following requirements in
place prior to the closing date for the competition:
Be registered with Constructionline, have ‘Active’ status and have at least the minimum Category
Value in one of the Work Categories specified for the procurement
Have a health and safety management system, satisfying the requirements of the Buildsafe-NI
initiative, which has been certified by one of the 3rd parties listed on CPD's Website; and
Have a valid certificate demonstrating that the company’s organisation and arrangements for health
and safety have been evaluated, in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management)
Regulations (ACOP Stage 1 assessment), under a scheme which is a member of the Safety Schemes in
Procurement (SSIP) Forum.
The project comprises all works associated with the construction of a single-storey extension to the rear
elevation of an existing occupied bungalow within the Association’s Rossmore Park scheme.
The existing dwelling was constructed around the mid-1990s and incorporates traditional methods of
construction throughout.
The new extension will provide twin bedroom accommodation for a disabled client and will be in
accordance with agreed occupational therapist recommendations and specification
The project will also include all works associated with the formation of a new accessible shower room
within the footprint of the existing dwelling
Construction activities will include all of the relevant domestic M&E, associated site works, and drainage.
A contract period of approximately 12 weeks is envisaged, preliminarily scheduled to commence within
September 2014. The estimated works cost is circa £30,000 excluding VAT.
