HOW TO CREATE A LACSHA PARENT PORTAL ACCOUNT
*Both students and parents/guardians can create accounts*
What is the Parent Portal As part of our continuing efforts to provide information regarding your student’s progress
and status, beginning in 2009 parents will be able to view student information for their
students from our school database using the LACHSA Parent Portal. Through our secure
server (online) you will be able to view your student’s demographic data, grades,
transcripts (unofficial), attendance records, class schedule, progress toward completion of
graduation requirements and emergency contact information. Access to the LACHSA
Parent Portal sign-in screen is through the Parent Portal tab on the www.lachsa.net web
page or at (https://lachsa.lacoemis.org/pabi/).

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS SETTING UP A NEW PARENT PORTAL ACCOUNT FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS Step 1: Creating an Account Access to the LACHSA Parent Portal sign-in screen is through the Parent Portal tab on
the www.lachsa.net web page (https://lachsa.lacoemis.org/pabi/). You should see the
following screen appear:
Choose the “Create a New Account” link in the bottom left corner of the purple AERIES
screen. Once you click “create new account,” you will see the following screen.
Step 2: Account Information You will enter your own email address and create your own password. You will be
required to change your password after you log on to the LACHSA Parent Portal for the
first time.

Step 3: Confirming your Account After choosing the “next” button in step 2, you will see the following screen. Please go
to your email account and click on “Confirm” so the server knows that you received the
test email. The email should be titled “AERIES BROWSER INTERFACE ACCOUNT
VERIFICATION” and may be in your junk email folder if it is not in your regular
account. Once you confirm, return to this screen and hit “next” (if you see a screen that
states “this email address is already assigned to an account, return to the log in page and
choose “forgot your password”). Please know that sometimes Hotmail accounts reject
these emails. If you have a Hotmail account please consider using another email address
for your registration.
Step 4: Student Verification Step 4 will require you to enter the information about your student. This information was
provided in an email from “AERIES BROWSER INTERFACE” to the primary parent
email account that was given to LACSHA during registration. Please enter all
information EXACTLY as you see it on the email. Do not enter any dashes or
parentheses for the telephone number. All letters in the verification code must be lower
case or capitalized exactly like they were in the email.
Once you have entered all information accurately, hit “next” and you will be taken to the
Parent Portal where you can click on any of the tabs to see information about your
student. You may re-do this process as many times as needed for all
parents/guardians. Student should also create their own account!

Accessing Student Information Once logged in you will be given access to a number of tabbed choices including. Please
CHECK and VERIFY all your information to be correct. If you have any errors in your
information please call the LACHSA main office at 323-343-2550. Include your students
full name, and the items that need to be changed. A link to Change Password and Logout
is located toward the top left of the screen.
Please note: All information is current. You will be able to view or print any of the
information. Please note: Transcripts printed from the LACHSA Parent Portal are
unofficial and will not be accepted by other schools or colleges. For additional
information and interpretation of transcripts please contact your student’s counselor.
Logging out LACHSA Parent Portal will automatically log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity. It is
imperative that you log out and close the internet browser when you have finished using
the LACHSA Parent Portal on a public computer (any non-home computer). Failing to
close the internet browser may make your student’s personal record available to users
who use the computer after you. They may be able to view and/or print out information
contained in your student’s personal record.

Frequently Asked Questions Q: What if I am a returning parent who forgot their password? A: Instead of “creating a new account,” choose “forgot your password” in the bottom right corner
of the log in page and follow the directions. You will need to still have your students Permanent
ID number, home phone number and verification code on hand to reset your password for your
account (Step 4 above)
Q: What if more than one parent wants access to the account? A: That is fine. The student information can be entered for multiple accounts. Follow the same
steps as above. Create a new account for each email address you want to access the account.
Q: What if I have more than one student enrolled at LACHSA? A: You can add students to your existing account. Once you have logged in and created an
account for one student, go to the top right corner of the screen. You will see a tab titled “current
student” and if you use the drop down you can “add a new student” to your account. You will
still need all information to complete “Step 4”
Q: What if the information on the account is not accurate? A: If there are any errors please contact the main office immediately at 323-343-2550 to get your
information updated.
Q: I have done all the steps above and I still can’t log in or create an account. What do I do to get access to the Parent Portal? A: Please email Mary Cholko at [email protected] Include your child’s full name, a home
phone number, email address, and a good time to contact you and we will work to trouble shoot
and fix the problem as quickly as possible.
