2015 Sumter National Enduro Chase Crew Cheat Sheet

2015 Sumter National Enduro Chase Crew Cheat Sheet
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or any riders’ bike. These are public roads with local traffic subject to traffic
laws. You can be ticketed. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles. Obey check crew and road crossing personnel
instructions. These volunteers work hard to ensure a safe race.
Unless noted otherwise, Follow BLACK arrows. Do not use maps or GPS systems. This is a safety issue for your rider(s)!
We want you to go in a specific direction to help cut down on two way traffic and having to cross the enduro trail. It will
also allow for medical services to reach any rider in need without having to fight through congestion. On main roads,
you will see an upside down arrow prior to a turn to let you know you need to slow down.
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or rider’s bike. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles
Stop # 1 –Stop #1 will be the end of section 1. Although you will go right by the entrance to section 1, please do NOT
stop. The road is too narrow and it is heavily traveled by local residents. Besides, the pause at that point is so short, you
will not be able to get from the start to that point before your rider has already gone through.
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or rider’s bike. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles.
Stop # 2 – Do not turn around at stop # 1. Go in the same direction as you came in and continue on to the next stop by
following the black arrows. Stop # 2 will be the end of section 2.
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or rider’s bike. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles.
Stop # 3 – Do not turn around at stop # 2. Go in the same direction as you came in and continue following the black
arrows. Stop #3 will be the Designated Gas Stop. Although it is just down the road from the end of section 3, please do
not go against motorcycle traffic to the end of the section. Meet your rider at the Gas Stop!
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or rider’s bike. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles.
Stop # 4 – If your rider is a “C” class rider, you do not need to go to stop #4. It is the end of section 4 and it is the “C”
rider cutoff. Go back to the start area from the Gas Stop. Follow the green START arrows back from stop #3. If you are
chasing an “A” or “B” rider, do not turn around at Stop # 3. Continue in the same direction as you came in and continue
following the black arrows. Be careful crossing the highway as motorcycle traffic will be crossing at the same spot.
Follow Sherriff Deputy's instructions at this intersection. Stop #4 will be where you come to a major power line above.
Pull onto the power line access area on the right. Do not park in the road. When leaving stop # 4, turn right out of the
access area and continue to follow black arrows.
Do NOT block roadways with chase vehicle or rider’s bike. Watch for bikes all day, and from all angles.
Stop # 5 – If your rider is a “B” rider, you do not need to go to stop #5. It is the end of section 5 and it is the “B” rider
cutoff. Go back to the start area from stop # 4 by turning right out of the power line access area and continue to follow
the black arrows until you see a green START arrow. At that point, follow the green arrows back to the start area. If you
are chasing an “A” rider, continue following the black arrows to spot #5. There is ONE purple arrow at the intersection
of Hwy 261 (the main highway you came in on getting to the start area). Turn right at that purple arrow and continue
following the black arrows to stop #5. (This is the only purple arrow you will need to look for.) You WILL have to turn
around at stop #5, so turn around before you park! When leaving, continue following black arrows. Once you get back
on the main road (Hwy 763), follow the Green START arrows back to the start area.
Thank you for following our instructions and maintaining the safest route possible for all of our riders.
