ALL STUDENTS

The TIGS Chess Club 2015 - The TIGS Chess Club will take place every Friday Lunchtime in B14. If you would
like to learn to play, please come along. For the more experienced players, you can play against other
players and have the chance to represent the school in various competitions.

MATHS HELP is on again this year. If you need help with homework or work missed, come to B13 at
lunchtimes on FRIDAY, WEEK A or TUESDAY, LUNCH 2, WEEK B. It is also on WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON in the
library from 3:30 – 5:00.



All house patrons and captains have a meeting backstage at lunchtime today. Remember to come with
your song selections....I wonder what they will be....
ARTS

Senior Strings will be starting next Monday morning, Week 3 at 8am. Any student who plays a string
instrument is most welcome to attend. Please see Mrs Pinazza with any questions.

A reminder that only the parts mentioned in the rehearsal schedule will be needed for Monday's rehearsal.
All cast will be required on Wednesday. See you all there.... We already sound amazing!!!!!

Our TIGS Netball Club will hold our registration days at the following times: Netta (8-10 years) - Friday 13th
Feb 3.30pm-5pm and Saturday 14th Feb from 9.30am-11am Juniors (11-17 years) - Friday 20th Feb 3.30pm5pm at school in the IGC. Training is every Friday afternoon between 3.30pm and 5pm and games are
Saturday morning starting mid April.

We will also be looking to start a TIGS Basketball Club for students wishing to play in a new competition
starting Friday nights at the Snakepit. Teams will only be allowed 2 x rep players per team, however this is a
social comp so teams of any level are encouraged. I am also looking for any parents who may want to
help out with the club with coaching. Please email me or come and see me if you are interested.

The Co-Curricular Sports Program starts this week. It's your responsibility to ensure that you are signed up to
a sporting activity or you have completed the appropriate paper work for an exemption. Please remember
that the sports are compulsory and will be documented in your semester report. We are representing our
school so we need to be punctual.

The TIGS Swimming carnival will be on Tuesday 17th February. Can you please ensure that you wear the
TIGS swimsuit or board shorts or plain navy or black speedo style swimmers. There will be no coloured
swimming costumes or board shorts allowed in any event on the day.

Please also be aware that I will be contacting many students via email regarding important upcoming
sporting events such as NASSA, ACISES and CIS. If you are a student who may be representing our school
community at these levels in any sports can you please make sure you read your emails regularly.

Do you love running, swimming or riding or all three? We are looking for individual students or teams of
three to compete in the The All Schools Triathlon Championships on Thursday 26th February (Individual
Triathlon events) and Friday 27th February (Relay Races in teams of 3).
Juniors 12 to 14 Years , Born on or after 1st January 2001;
Intermediate 15 - 16; Born between 1st January 1999 and 31 December 2000;
Senior 17 to 19 years Born on or before 31 December 1998

Any students planning to volunteer at Breakfast on the Beach on Sunday need to wear their sports uniform.

Any students new to Year 11 need to see James Rogers in his office during Mentor time to discuss
Community Service and make selections.

Year 11 students that are allocated a study in period 7 Wednesday B, please note that next period 7
Wednesday B you will go to the room D16 with Jane Golding as your supervising teacher, you will not be in
the library.

University Preparation Program (UPP). You are invited to attend this session on Tuesday 10 February at
