have or have had cancer, you are invited to an
informational meeting on Saturday, January
17th at 9:30 a.m. in the Adult Worker’s
Sunday School Classroom. Please come and
join us as we shape plans for an on-going
monthly support group. For more information,

Prayer Team
God has given us a life line to talk with Him each
day. Have you considered the blessing of praying
for people you might not even know? It IS a
blessing and it means so much to those who are in
need for prayer. We have around 35 time slots that
aren't used each week that need to be filled. Pray
about making time to pray for others a "new year's
resolution." If you have an interest or want to
know more, please contact Catherine Brewer at
(843) 249-4355. I'll be waiting for your call
because I'm praying for you to want to blessed.

Women on Mission[aries]
By Catherine Brewer
There has been some interest expressed in starting a new group focusing on our IMB missionaries. We
could use a few more interested women to join us. If you picked up one of the prayer guides for the
"Week of Prayer for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering," you know that our missionaries serve in many
countries and serve in different ways. If you didn't pick up the guide, I believe there are some still around
the buildings.
Now, just like you, no one needs "another" meeting so, the thought is, we'd meet not monthly but
quarterly. Working moms, moms with kids of all ages, retired ladies, single ladies-- all females are
encouraged to help us form this group. We'd like to have a "brain storming" meeting in early February to
gauge interest and what day/night, time, would suit those who are interested. Watch the January bulletins
to see when the meeting will be or contact the church office (843-249-2448) or Catherine Brewer (843249-4355 before 8:00 p.m., please). Happy New Year!

From: Porter Kennington
Dear Church Family: Thank
you so much for the many
prayers, cards, phone calls, emails, texts, and memorials
during the many months of my
father’s illness and recent
death. It’s so comforting to
have such a loving and caring
church family. Your support
has been a tremendous blessing during this difficult time. In Christian
Love, Porter Kennington
The Tuesday morning Ladies
Bible Study will resume on
January 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in
the Fellowship Hall. They will
begin a new study in February.
Watch the bulletin for more
information.
From: Mary Phillips
I am a client of Mercy Hospice. The chaplain gave me one of your
[Comfort Quilters] lap quilts. I love the quilt you made for me. It reminded
me of the quilts my grandmother made when I was a child. I can’t tell you
how very much this meant to me. Thank you for using the gifts God gave
you. Sincerely, Mary Phillips
From: Norma Olin (Helping Hand)
Once again the staff and volunteers of North Strand Helping Hand wish to
offer our heartfelt gratitude for your recent donation of $382.00. Your
generous gift is helping to accomplish the mission of providing emergency
aid to individuals and families in need in the north Strand area. Your
kindness is appreciated and we thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely, Norma Olin
From: Fay Hall (Teen Angel)
Thank you for always thinking of the homeless teens at NMB High School
and your wonderful donation of $1,100.00. Love and Prayers, Fay Hall,
Volunteer for Teen Angel. P.S. Merry Christmas to a caring church!
From: Jerry and Margie Branscome
Thanks to everyone who
participated in a Christmas
project this past month. Many
Sunday School classes and
groups found a way to share
the love of Christ. Lunch
Bunch provided over 100 pairs
of new socks to Street Reach.
Many groups gave to Teen
Angel. Others found families
that needed help. Your gifts
are appreciated!
Jerry and I would like to offer a sincere thank you to our church family for
the prayers offered on my behalf to the Lord following my recent surgery.
A special thanks to the members of the New Beginnings Sunday School
Class for the cards, food and visits. We offer a special thanks to Dr. John
Gambrell who ministered to us during this time with encouragement
through e-mail and phone calls. May God bless you all in the New Year.
Sincerely, Jerry and Margie Branscome
From: Franklin Graham (Samaritan’s Purse)
Thank you for your recent gift of $385.71 to the ministry of Samaritan’s
Purse. This season, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ, we are so grateful for the opportunity to share His love and hope
with so many around the world who are suffering. As our staff fights the
spread of Ebola in Liberia, helps families terrorized by ISIS in northern
Iraq, and meets the needs of thousands of refugees in South Sudan, the
Lord reminds us in His word that “In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”(John 16:33). We give
God all the glory and thank you again for your partnership. May God bless
you. Sincerely, Franklin Graham

Souper Bowl
Souper Bowl is on February 1,
2015. All food will go to North
Strand Helping Hand and the
money received will be divided
between Street Reach and North
Strand Helping Hand. There
will be people at each exit of the
sanctuary and Family Life
Center to receive monetary
donations. If you prefer, you
can give through your weekly
envelope check being sure to
put on the envelope “Souper
Bowl” and the amount
designated for this mission
project.
Ed Piotrowski, WPDE
weatherman, said during
Thanksgiving that 1 in 4 kids in
Horry County goes to bed
hungry! While you are
thinking about snacks for
watching the Super
Bowl, please buy staple food
items for the needy.
Put food items in the gray
mission containers around
church and on February 1st
put around the pulpits! Last
year, Souper Bowl Sunday was
snowy and icy so please plan
ahead!
Thanks to everyone who made
Christmas a happier time for
the 35 struggling teens Teen
Angel is helping. With your
generosity, $1,100.00 was sent
to take them shopping. One
of these students was the
young man with the scholarship to the South Carolina
Governor’s School we helped
this past summer. If you
would like more information
about Teen Angel, there are
several articles available on
the internet or you can visit
their facebook page.
Prisoner Packets
