SCHEDULE OF AREAS
The Welwyn data centre is situated within a highly secure
double fenced site and has been designed and built to a high
specification. The data centre is designed to be concurrently
maintainable and the resilient mechanical and electrical design
includes high levels of redundancy. It has been designed to exceed
the requirements of Uptime Institute’s Tier III rating and much of
the infrastructure design is more in line with Tier IV topology.

Construction was completed in 2009 and it was the first data
centre in the UK to be awarded a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Gatehouse
The data centre has been planned to provide a total of
2,900 sq m of net technical space, arranged over two data halls.
Data Hall 1 has been fitted out and went live in 2010 and will be
available for immediate occupation; the second hall is currently
in shell condition to provide for future expansion space. The facility
also includes offices, logistics and ancillary space, together with
car parking for 30 cars.
