This seems to be the perfect moment to reflect and
thank each one of you for making my job so
enjoyable! Sometimes people forget just how much
365 days actually brings to their lives. And I can
honestly say my life has truly been enriched this past
year by having each of you a part of it! I was once
told the more fun you have, the faster time flies.

Come and join us as Dr. Brown shares her
knowledge of the importance of good nutrition.
Dr. Brown acquired a Bachelor’s degree in
Biology from the University of South Florida.
She obtained her Master’s Degree in Science and
her Medical Doctor degree from the American
University of the Caribbean. During medical
school, Dr. Brown joined organizations that
encouraged and recognized academic
excellence, character, morality and conduct
befitting the field of medicine. She participated
in organizing multiple outreach programs,
health fairs and volunteer organizations that

emphasize client centered care. Dr. Brown is
Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a
Diplomat of the American Board of Family
Medicine (ABFM). She completed her residency
at Mount Carmel Medical Center (St. Ann’s) in
Columbus, Ohio. After residency she relocated
to Florida where she worked as the Assistant
Medical Director for American’s Urgent Care
and then became Medical Director for WellMed
Medical Management, a managed care company,
at the tender age of 32. She later used her
knowledge from these experiences to create
House Call M.D.’s L.L.C. Dr. Brown is a part of
Bayfront Health Medical Group – Family
Practice located at 13933 17th Street, Suite 101,
Dade City 33525. Dr. Brown is currently
accepting new patients.

This is a specialized class just for Senior Circle

class is held every Wednesday from 10—11:00
a.m. at Dade City Jazzercise Studio, 12307 US

free. The class is a low impact, high energy
workout that is fun and effective and designed
especially for seniors! No experience is
required and is attended by women and men.

Diabetes Education
Living with Diabetes - 4 Week Program

If you were recently diagnosed with
diabetes or struggle with managing your
diabetes, then this program is designed to
help you. Bayfront Health Dade City offers a
4-week diabetic education series in a small
group setting. The program is facilitated by
hospital’s dietitian and diabetic nurse. It is
designed to help you take charge of your
diabetes. Over the course of 4 weeks, topics
of discussion will include: Nutrition and
You; How to Read Food Labels’ What to Look
for When Dining Out; Monitoring Your
Insulin; Managing Your Diabetes;
Medication Education and Exercise &
Diabetes. Our Living with Diabetes
Program follows specific guidelines from
the American Diabetes Association.
To be accepted into this program, you will
need a prescription from your physician, a
commitment to getting control of your
diabetes and a one-time fee to cover your
personal nutrition assessment with our
dietitian. Most insurance plans cover this
assessment fee. This program is limited to
six participants per 4-week series, so call

Kumquat Festival

Festival® with over 400 vendors and 40
sponsors participating, filling the Dade
City’s Historic Downtown core. Visitors can
enjoy all kinds of tasty kumquat treats, from
kumquat pie to kumquat cookies,
smoothies, ice cream, marmalade, and even
kumquat salsa.
Dade City's Annual Kumquat Festival®, held
the last Saturday in January each year,
(Saturday, January 31, 2015 - 9am to 5pm)
has become extremely popular for its
homegrown, family-friendly entertainment.
Visitors can listen to local entertainment,
get their face painted, look at antique cars,
and shop for arts and crafts.
Admission is FREE, transportation from the
satellite parking areas is FREE, city owned
