Summary of Qualifications
36 years of experience managing the construction of educational facilities. Richard has
had direct control in the budgeting, management and construction of over 200
educational facilities, averaging 6 schools per year for the prior 15 years at Oregon’s
largest educational facilities builder. As a licensed General Contractor, he now operates
his own management and construction firm. His positions have included Director of
Estimating, Operations Manager and President of Oregon’s largest educational
construction firm.

Serves as construction manager and general contractor, developing budgets, schedules,
and managing all phases of construction for projects.
Robinson Construction Co.
From 1976-1981, acquired “hands-on” knowledge of all aspects of school construction,
managing educational projects in the field as a Foreman, Superintendent, and General
From 1982-2009, obtained an account-based experience of school budgets in a variety of
senior management positions.
Planned budgets for all construction projects as Director of Estimates, using a detailed
survey method of estimating, which includes pricing building components, cost of labor
and subcontractors, equipment, contingencies, project “soft cost” or overhead, and profit
allocation. In sum, prepared budgets on over 800 schools.
Supervised all aspects of school construction and management as Vice President and
President. Duties included reviewing and approving all estimates and budgets, monitoring
project progress with periodic reviews, scheduling, marketing, training of staff, and
hiring of management staff. Directly controlled the budgeting, management and
construction of over 200 educational facilities, averaging 6 schools a year for the
previous 15 years.
During tenure at Robinson Construction Co., the company grew from annual billings of
less then $5,000,000 to over $250,000,000. Employment grew from an initial staff of 16
to over 250 employees. By volume the company grew to be the largest educational
facilities builder in the state of Oregon.
